This blog is set up as a catch all for the 30 days of juicing I'm doing. I wasn't going to catalog any details, but, well, I may stumble upon some resources that may help someone else. There are thousands of testimonials on "The Youtube" in hours of need or as I should say when THE HUNGER comes, I look at some of them and it gives me a boost in confidence to proceed. Then again, I like hearing testimonials because I love listening to other peoples' experiences.
Still this blog is more for me, than anyone who stumbles over it. I feel I have to say that, because most of what I post here is for me to have a quick reference for other blogs, details and juice recipes that will help me after these 30 are complete. If the things I post are helpful to someone else, well, let's just give those points to Ravenclaw.

DAY 30: Colonel Carrot my best friend.
REALIZATION OF THE DAY:
I typically wake up hungry & today was no different. I have been preparing for today for two weeks.
For two weeks I've been eating & paying attention to when I eat. This allowed me to examine when I am the most hungry and when I am just peckish. I've come to realize THE HUNGER is stronger when I am bored & when I'm tired.
I did not know this about myself. Before, I simply thought I was just hungry, because I wanted food, but, food was a hobby for me and of course if you love a hobby you do it more. Eating seemed to be a thing I just did. I'm not sure exactly how to use this information to my advantage. I automatically think if I'm bored I should find a new hobby, exercise or do something to soak up my concentration. My answer for being tired use to be "drink coffee". Now, it may be "go to bed" or "drink some tea". This week I do plan to snack on some food, Almonds, Baby Carrots, Broccoli & when the cards are really low Tuna ... but, relying on these items to quell THE HUNGER won't do anything to break my habit.
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Since juicing I have come to understand qualities of certain vegetables. Today I feature the CARROT.
The carrot has a mellow flavor that I have come to love in juice. I was never a fan of cooked carrots or of carrots with peanut butter. Juice'em or serve'em raw, that's what I say. My morning juice consisted of:
4 Carrots
2 Apples
1 Lemon
I tell you that's a tasty cocktail. It's not by my design most of the juices I make are from http://www.fatsickandnearlydead.com/
I've found that the carrot is effective at cutting the acidic taste of the lemon with delicious results.
yet the carrot doesn't overpower the drink except in color.
In looking for carrots at the grocer. I've noticed that the shelf life is high, and the look of a carrot isn't a strong indicator of whether a carrot is "bad" or not. It is a resilient root that is a staple in my new diet. Just to see, check out specialty stores for LARGER CARROTS! That's right carrots by the pound. I usually use carrots in the morning & afternoon so I need 2 bags a week. Buying larger sized carrots just seems to ad 2 or 3 extra ounces to my cocktails.
